Northern Lights Tour to the Mountain of
Luossavaara
Join us on a tour of the area around Kiruna. You
will soon realize that Kiruna is situated in the
middle of the mountains. We’ll snowmobile to the
top of the city mountain of Luossavaara, the
highest viewing point in Kiruna. Here we can
enjoy the view and have something warm to drink.
In the evenings, we might see the fantastic
Northern Lights. Loussavaara means “the salmon
mountain”, which was also once a mine.

Nature experience: Moose safari on snowmobiles
This excellent tour starts with a 24-minute
transfer to the village of Laukkuluspa. Here we
will start our snowmobiles and head out into the
snowy winter landscape.
We will drive over the Kalix River towards the
majestic mountains. We will pass the areas where
the moose spend their time in the winter. We can
almost guarantee you’ll see moose.
We then continue up to the mountain top at 1012
m.a.s.l. We can see the summit of the Kebnekaise
if the weather is clear.
During the day, we will stop at a kåta, a
traditional Sami hut, where we will enjoy lunch
in front of crackling open fire.

Icefishing on snowmobiles
Join us on an ice-fishing trip to one of the
mountain lakes in the Kiruna area. The people of
the Kiruna region are passionate about
ice-fishing. Sitting on a reindeer hide on the
ice, basking in the sunshine and patiently
waiting for the biggest fish is a very peaceful
experience.
From Camp Ripan, we’ll take a car to the village
of Laukkuluspa. From here we’ll snowmobile along
the River Kalix and up into the majestic
mountains.
We might see moose and reindeer along the way
and, weather permitting, we will have a good
view of Sweden’s highest mountain, Kebnekaise,
straight ahead. Any fish we catch will be cooked
directly for lunch. Otherwise, we will have a
Lappish lunch in front of a warm, crackling open
fire.

We will start the tour from Camp Ripan and drive
through the enchanting forests and over frozen
lakes. After a while we will see the mountain of
Eatnamvárri ahead of us. On our way up the
mountain, you will have a wonderful view of the
landscape. Eatnamvárri is Sami and means “the
earth mountain”. Around a warming fire we will
enjoy coffee and a sandwich.

Snowmobile tour in the Kebnekaise area
The Kebnekaise mountain range is one of Sweden’s
most well-known.
The area boasts the highest peaks in Sweden,
with the largest glaciers and spectacular
mountain valleys. An abundance of wildlife
thrives in a wilderness that has a spiritual
feeling to it. To the west winds the
world-renowned royal hiking path, Kungsleden,
“the King’s Path”. One recognizes many of the
stops along the way such as Sälka, Singi and
Nallo – all of which have well-kept cabins, far
from civilization. For almost ten years now, the
use of terrain vehicles is greatly restricted,
and only a select few are granted the privilege
to travel by snowmobile in this breathtaking
